What an incredible success Ballet Jörgen Canada has had over the past two years:
- The world première of the Group of Seven Nutcracker earned us tremendous praise and became an instant audience and critical hit.
- Our 20th Anniversary production of Anastasia continued to garner accolades wherever it was performed.
- Ballet Jörgen Canada won the B.C. Touring Council’s prestigious 2009 Touring Artist/Company of the Year Award for “demonstrating artistic excellence in their discipline and bringing the highest degree of professionalism in touring.”
- The Emperor’s New Clothes, our ballet for young people, continuously sells out throughout Ontario and the Atlantic Region.
- We have a record setting number of performances scheduled for the 2009-2010 season, including a coast-to-coast tour of Cinderella and a whistle-stop Ontario tour of Group of Seven Nutcracker.
None of this could have been achieved without the support of our many donors, including patrons, foundations and corporations.
Ballet Jörgen Canada reaches more communities in more provinces than any other dance company in Canada and we could not do this without your support. Like our colleagues, we are facing difficult times. In response, we are working harder, pushing our creative limits, and remaining in good financial shape, with more bookings next season than ever before.
It’s this spirit of perseverance and determination that has allowed Ballet Jörgen Canada to weather every crisis over the past 21 years – always coming out stronger and more vibrant than ever.
Ballet Jörgen Canada reaches more communities in more provinces than any other dance company in Canada and we could not do this without your support. The 2009-2010 season is the most significant one yet, and we are visiting old friends as well as new ones across the country, from BC to Newfoundland & Labrador. This means that well over 50,000 Canadians will see one of our ballets.
